eFax review in Columbia, South Carolina: Avoid like the PLAGUE
You cannot cancel eFax (J2) service, no matter how hard you try. No way to do so on any of their sites, or even in your account, or even through email. You also can't delete your credit card from your account (only "update" it). Buttons that should work on their site do not. Even when you call for sales, you have to hold, and hold, and hold. Whenever I call, I simply cannot get this company to answer their phones without a long, long hold. Then when they finally answer, and I happen to tell them that I want to cancel the service, they tell me that their "computers are down for the day." Puh. Lease. Service was almost always terrible. Faxes rarely went through. Plus, you don't find out until HOURS later that it didn't, so you don't follow up. Their software doesn't seem to make more than a few attempts (but they won't tell you how many). You have to keep logging on to your account and reloading the documents, and the number, and telling it to send the fax--only to find out, hours later, that that didn't go through, either. I've missed very important deadlines that have cost me serious money (tens of thousands of dollars, in one case). As for customer service, it's some of the worst I've ever seen. And this goes for their sister sites, too (OneBox and eVoice). It's all under a company called "J2," which is how it appears on your credit or debit card. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. I wish I had. I'm now on Customer Service trying to get refunded for unauthorized charges, and I've had to order a new debit card so J2 couldn't keep billing it.
- Fact that i can fax from my computer
- No online or email cancelation
- Getting ripped off
- Jumping through hoops at first
Reason of review
Poor customer service
I have been with Efax since April 2014 and only used it for their "free" service. I cancelled after the time that I used it and the rep saod it would take 30 days to cancel, so I let it be. I have never used it and have no need for it. I just got billed today, still...
Reason of review
Problems with payment
EFAX will not stop billing me.
I subscribed to a TRIAL service of eFAX (online FAX service) to mail transcripts to US Federal job applications. I canceled the service and even received a confirmation number, but when I checked my bank account I found they have been debiting my checking account for 13 months for a total of $247.30. When I call their customer service number I am routed back to the Internet and when I emailed them, them have not responded. I used the service exactly 3 times and once the recipient at the government agency told me the FAX was not readable, so I canceled the service. Or so I thought. I am PISSED. Consumers are easy prey for dishonest businesses. We have little power as individuals, but people should be warned to NOT do business with J2 Coomunications! I want and need help!
