Just don't do it. They keep billing and billing without any right to do so. You cannot cancel the account, no matter how hard you try. I didnt even want to have any subscription, bust was trying to just send a single fax. Without notice they put my account into "pro"...

I agree with you. I just got off the phone with them, They bought maxmail, a company that charged $7.99 to use their fax service.

I was a customer. Month one, Efax automatically charged me more than double the amount. I responded requesting that they cancel the account and they tried to give me a discount, which I declined. Month two, I received another charge, so I emailed again explaining that I had canceled.

I received a reply telling me that in order to cancel I needed to call a number. I just called and explain the situation, but the efax employee was not able to give me a refund.

Now they are telling me that the account is closed. Bad company with predatory practices!

Like the 80's, eFax just won't go away

Every now and then you really need cutting-edge 1980's technology, like when you have to dig the VCR out of the basement to view your wedding video (on the occasion of your 40th anniversary) ...or when someone wants to send you a fax. When that happens, eFax will be there. Unfortunately, while you can put the VCR back in the basement, eFax CEO Hemi Zucker presides over a company that refuses to go away. After you send that one fax, you'll continue to be billed, month after month, because eFax will only cancel your service if you CALL them and allow a sales rep to hassle you for a while. Yup, a company designed to route faxes into your email will only take cancellations by live voice! Apparently Hemi doesn't get irony. This business model, like fax technology itself, is antique, but it still works so well. You know what that cancellation phone call is going to be like, so instead you'll search -- and search -- for the "chat" button that is supposed to be there on the eFax website (but isn't). Eventually you'll get distracted, and Internet leach Hemi Zucker will bleed your bank account for another month's subscription fee. Look, everyone wants to convert his product into a subscription service because everyone knows that you'll forget to cancel, at least for a while. But at least ethical companies will let you cancel with ease when you finally remember to do so. Hemi Zucker and his management team don't seem to have that much class. My Recommendation: if you need to fax something, call the phone company and have them install a second phone line, then go online and buy a vintage fax machine. Then buy toner and paper and spend an hour or so setting it up. When you're done, sell the fax machine and have the phone company come and disconnect the line. In the end it will still be less hassle than dealing with eFax.

It's as close to robbing the consumer, as you can get! I was at a meeting and offered my android phone as a fax machine, and I tried to fax. It didn't work at all! I called the company, and they left me on hold after telling me I couldn't cancel or get a refund for 16.95, even though it was useless. Later I saw That they steamroll billed Me for 4 months and nearly $70 even after I cancelled the service, in the beginning, and the service never worked! They offered to refund 2 months saying that it is the best they can do. I filed a complaint with my credit card company.

I agree they are horrible. There customer service is the worst . I called prior to my free trail subscription ending to cancel the subscription before they proceed with regular monthly billing ...the customer service rep I spoke to told me I have to cancel via email...while I was waiting for a reponse from the email i sent stating i want my subscription cancelled they charged for that month..So when I call them they would not let me finish my sentence they would even listen to what i was say ...there customer service is rude. and not helpful at all .they took my money for a month that i never want ...the supervisor as wwll would not give me a refund..I will tell and my friend never ever deal with this company .I hope whoever owns efax seriously cleans up there customer service department ...because they will not have a business for long the way they treat there customers .Not professional at all.

eFax review in San Diego, California: Charged me for a service I didn't use—and refused to refund me

I tried the free trial of eFax. I then looked into canceling my account, and found many reports that eFax accounts are notoriously difficult to cancel. Then I lost my credit card and my credit card number changed. When I got emails from eFax saying payment was not being collected and my account was being suspended, I assumed that eFax would simply not charge me. However, it seems that eFax somehow got ahold of my new credit card number. I was then charged for two months of service AND a late fee—all for a service I DID NOT USE except during the trial period. They would have kept charging me had I not checked my credit card statement! I asked to have the charges refunded. They refused. The customer service rep kept mindlessly repeating that "there is no refund applicable towards your account." Never, ever, EVER use eFax. Their customer service is abysmal, and they care about nothing but their own bottom line.

Be careful with J2 Efax service, and don't get sucked in. You have to chat or talk on the phone with a rep in order to get them to cancel your service, but of course they try to swindle you into continuing, and they waste your time going on and on and on and asking you the reason for canceling. And then the kicker: They say they have a "no refund" policy as a company. Well I have a no-business policy with companies like this. This is the 2nd chance I've given them to earn my business, and they have failed miserably both times. I won't be fooled again, and you shouldn't either.

I have called their 1-800 # they (Efax) told me "I am not their customer. They do not email non customers ever, therefore it must be spam on my end and I must contact my email provider to have the emails stopped. I contacted my email provider they told me the emails...

Oh course it looks like it's from efax, that's the point.

So of course efax has no way to stop it because it isn't from them.

Your email provider is just being lazy and unwilling to do anything about their *** product not blocking spam.
