eFax - Fraudulent charges on credit card on free trial

1.0
Details
Don't use this unless you want surprise charges on your credit card. They will charge you by the length of time it is to process the fax even though in the trial they market it as free 150 pages. The faxes I sent were incredibly slow and a week later I received multiple $10 fees charged on my credit card which was something I didnt approve, nor was I notified at the time of the transaction or via email. When speaking to the company, they wouldn't reverse the charges, but my bank has. Dont use this!!!

I have contacted my CC-Company to deny this company access to my cc and hopefully that will be the way to finally cancel the subscription. I would highly recommend for everybody to avoid the company J2 entirely. There might be better alternatives out there. Under no circumstance does it make sense though, to try eFax...

I agree with you. I just got off the phone with them, They bought maxmail, a company that charged $7.99 to use their fax service.

I was a customer. Month one, Efax automatically charged me more than double the amount. I responded requesting that they cancel the account and they tried to give me a discount, which I declined. Month two, I received another charge, so I emailed again explaining that I had canceled.

I received a reply telling me that in order to cancel I needed to call a number. I just called and explain the situation, but the efax employee was not able to give me a refund.

Now they are telling me that the account is closed. Bad company with predatory practices!

Efax Free Trial Review from Westchester, Illinois

I agree they are horrible. There customer service is the worst . I called prior to my free trail subscription ending to cancel the subscription before they proceed with regular monthly billing ...the customer service rep I spoke to told me I have to cancel via email...while I was waiting for a reponse from the email i sent stating i want my subscription cancelled they charged for that month..So when I call them they would not let me finish my sentence they would even listen to what i was say ...there customer service is rude. and not helpful at all .they took my money for a month that i never want ...the supervisor as wwll would not give me a refund..I will tell and my friend never ever deal with this company .I hope whoever owns efax seriously cleans up there customer service department ...because they will not have a business for long the way they treat there customers .Not professional at all.

eFax - Customer Service is worst than MS

1.7
Details
I needed to fax a document, but no longer had access so I thought that I would try to fax from my computer. I signed up for eFax's 30-Day Free Trial. Signing up was not difficult, but sending a fax (by following the directions provided to me by eFax) was a nightmare. I kept getting error messages. I emailed CS and they responded with "We regret for any inconvenience you may have experienced." They requested more information, even though I provided them with a detailed report of what had happened. They never responded. So the service was basically useless to me. My trial ran out on Nov 29th. They charged my CC on the 30th. Today (12/2), I had noticed the charge and called in. I told them about the trouble that I was having and asked that they cancel the account, which they did. I also asked for a refund and the CSR refused, saying that it was not company policy. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that the managers to not take/accept phone calls. This was, by far, the worst customer service experience that I have ever had and will not be using their services again. They received payment for one month and I received nothing. I am not a fan of this business model. Buyer beware when trying/using eFax. Both the product and the customer service were severely lacking.

They charged my account!!!!! their 1-800# doesn't have a cancellation option. I picked option to add new services which was answered right away and made them transfer me to the actual department! Stay away from EFax.

EFax charges for service during the 30-day trial period

I signed up for a "30-day free trial" with eFax, and tried to send my first fax. The fax was large, and for some reason, it was completely unsuccessful, and no pages were transmitted. I tried faxing the same fax again, and 28 pages were transmitted the 2nd time. Then I tried the fax again, and 42 pages were transmitted. Then I tried 2 more times, and 0 pages were transmitted. I called to cancel, and the phone was answered by someone who spoke broken english in some call center. The lady told me that I faxed more than the 150 page limit, and they would have to charge me for the "overage". BTW, the original fax was only 133 pages, and only 70 pages were actually transmitted successfully. The representative then told me that I get charged for faxes, whether they are successfully transmitted or not. So I cancelled my account and got a cancellation confirmation number (it was an 8 digit numeric number). I then decided to call my credit card company, and I disputed the charge, and they put a block on any "recurring" charges from eFax. What a hassle. Just wanted to share my bad experience about eFax. I would never do business with this company!!!

I attempted to cancel my efax account over a year ago and was told it was cancelled.. I realized 2 months ago they'd been charging me $16.95/month.

I emailed multiple times to inform them of this, and they told me to call. I called and I was put on hold for over 25 minutes. There was "nothing the supervisor could do" because I had no record of the cancellation...

because they require you cancel over the phone. I would LOVE for someone to sue this company.
