EFax ploys to keep from cancelling account

1.0
Details
In addition to tactics mentioned below [or above], they will put you on hold for several [in my case, 6] minutes before coming back with a reference number. I imagine the reference number will be used in the event no e-mail confirmation is received in which case the whole routine of temporizing starts over again. I was pulled in to using eFax when I had to send in a doctor's request and eFax was advertised as "free.". For reasons unbeknownst to me, physician's offices have persist in sticking with Faxes for reasons that are not valid. In any case, be prepared to spend lots of time trying to cancel a presumably 'free' service.

I signed up with efax in 2004. I had the same fax number for 12 years! I decided to use it today but could not login to my account. I called customer service and the rep was rude to begin with. She said my account was closed and put me on hold to get more info and...

Your email provider are retards who don't understand how spam works.

Oh course it looks like it's from efax, that's the point.

So of course efax has no way to stop it because it isn't from them.

Your email provider is just being lazy and unwilling to do anything about their *** product not blocking spam.

eFax review in Columbia, South Carolina: Avoid like the PLAGUE

You cannot cancel eFax (J2) service, no matter how hard you try. No way to do so on any of their sites, or even in your account, or even through email. You also can't delete your credit card from your account (only "update" it). Buttons that should work on their site do not. Even when you call for sales, you have to hold, and hold, and hold. Whenever I call, I simply cannot get this company to answer their phones without a long, long hold. Then when they finally answer, and I happen to tell them that I want to cancel the service, they tell me that their "computers are down for the day." Puh. Lease. Service was almost always terrible. Faxes rarely went through. Plus, you don't find out until HOURS later that it didn't, so you don't follow up. Their software doesn't seem to make more than a few attempts (but they won't tell you how many). You have to keep logging on to your account and reloading the documents, and the number, and telling it to send the fax--only to find out, hours later, that that didn't go through, either. I've missed very important deadlines that have cost me serious money (tens of thousands of dollars, in one case). As for customer service, it's some of the worst I've ever seen. And this goes for their sister sites, too (OneBox and eVoice). It's all under a company called "J2," which is how it appears on your credit or debit card. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. I wish I had. I'm now on Customer Service trying to get refunded for unauthorized charges, and I've had to order a new debit card so J2 couldn't keep billing it.

eFax review in Pinson, Alabama: Sneaky policies, poor service

No refunds! Beware. The website is slow and clunky to use, very frustrating. Attempting to cancel resulted in instructions for how to do so via offshore chat tech support, which only wanted to sign me up for a cheaper plan to keep me as a customer. The rep refused to acknowledge the unfairness of the cancellation policies and refused to refund 2 months of fees charged even after I requested cancellation. I am now a happy customer of Faxage , their website is a thousand times better and easier to use, and the service has been great.

eFax review in Warszawa, Mazowieckie: The computers are running the company NOT the humans

There are just not enough words to say how awful this companies customer service is when you have a problem. They tell me that they can't help me because the computer put my number into a mandatory paid status. I spoke to 3 people, two of whom were supervisors, but they wouldn't give me the name of the next level supervisor. Enock, the last person I spoke to was ridiculous in his explanation and rude. Don't waste your time. I will be sure to tell the world how terrible they are so no one else should have to deal with these ninnies.

eFax review: Customer Service is worst than MS

1.7
Details
I needed to fax a document, but no longer had access so I thought that I would try to fax from my computer. I signed up for eFax's 30-Day Free Trial. Signing up was not difficult, but sending a fax (by following the directions provided to me by eFax) was a nightmare. I kept getting error messages. I emailed CS and they responded with "We regret for any inconvenience you may have experienced." They requested more information, even though I provided them with a detailed report of what had happened. They never responded. So the service was basically useless to me. My trial ran out on Nov 29th. They charged my CC on the 30th. Today (12/2), I had noticed the charge and called in. I told them about the trouble that I was having and asked that they cancel the account, which they did. I also asked for a refund and the CSR refused, saying that it was not company policy. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that the managers to not take/accept phone calls. This was, by far, the worst customer service experience that I have ever had and will not be using their services again. They received payment for one month and I received nothing. I am not a fan of this business model. Buyer beware when trying/using eFax. Both the product and the customer service were severely lacking.
